Yaguay Girl – Amazon, Peru
During my trip to Peru in 2010 I fulfilled a lifetime ambition, spending a week at a rustic lodge on the Amazon near the Brazilian Border. Anthony and the Otorongo Expeditions crew ensured a magical week exploring all the jungle had to offer. My time included a visit to a Yaguay settlement where this picture was taken, as i learnt about the various challenges faced by the Yaguay as Western culture, politics, business and environmental concerns challenge their traditional way of life, a way of living at one with the forest.
